Frequently Asked Questions
Answers to Some Common Questions
Is the National Peace Foundation related to the United States Institute for Peace (USIP)?
Both NPF and USIP share a common history dating back some thirty years with the movement to establish a National Peace Academy. As part of the educational arm of this movement, the National Peace Academy Foundation was created in 1982. Although USIP and NPF are independent of one another, we acknowledge and celebrate our shared history.
What is the National Peace Foundation's position on the war in Iraq?
NPF does not take a position on the war in Iraq, but continues to work with citizen peacebuilders to prevent future conflicts.
Where does the National Peace Foundation get most of its funding?
The majority of NPF's revenue comes from various grants that are specifically designated to support programmatic work. However, these grants do not fully support all of the costs of our projects, and we therefore rely heavily on private contributions and donations from supporters.
How can I make a donation to the National Peace Foundation?
If you would like to make a gift to NPF, click on the yellow DonateNow button on the left sidebar. Alternatively, you can make a donation by telephone: call 888-650-3651, or by mail: send your check to P.O. Box 232, Brevard, NC 28712.
How can I join the National Peace Foundation's mailing list?
To join our mailing list, simply send an e-mail to email@example.com. Be sure to include your name, mailing address, and e-mail address. Please note that if you made an online donation to NPF, you are automatically added to our mailing list.
I am interested in adding the National Peace Foundation as a beneficiary in my will. Who can I talk to about this?
There are several ways that you can perpetuate your annual gift to NPF, and we have useful information on making bequests. As a not-for-profit charitable organization, there are tax benefits associated with certain kinds of bequests. For more information, please call 888-650-3651, or you may write to P.O. Box 232, Brevard, NC 28712, or e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org.
